This performance (or “prayerformance”) was from the last night of a two week tour with David Newman (aka “Durga Das”) and his wife Mira–Sarah Carlisle (Siri Kirtin) playing bass.  This song is Durga Das’s  original arrangement of the Gayatri Mantra, a powerful Mantras for self healing & spiritual practice.  Mantra & Kirtan work vibrationally, so one doesn’t even need to “understand what it means” for the mantra to work…but of course please look up a definition if you’d like to learn more!  May this video bring you into a state of greater ease & peace.  Namaste!
